Events Around the Church

Men’s Breakfast– January 11 at 8 am
The monthly men’s breakfast will be held at 8 a.m. on January 11th at the Hen House Cafe in Lebanon. Come for food, good company and conversation. Please talk to Richard or email him at jones@psouth.net if you plan on attending if possible. Otherwise, we’ll see you there!

Save the date– The annual meeting is coming up!
Instead of doing our annual meeting in two parts, we will hold it on one day only. Please join us for the service on January 26th at 9 a.m. Afterward, we will gather for a little coffee and treats before moving into the annual meeting.

Baby Blessings Diaper Drive
St. George’s is holding a baby diaper and wipes drive for our monthly Baby Blessings program! Families in need around the greater Sanford area can get diapers and wipes on the fourth Saturday of each month, no proof of income is required. Due to significant growth over the last two years, we are asking the community for help. Please talk to Mal or email stgeorgesanford@gmail.com if you want to put out a collection bin at your work/organization. Drop-off will be on Friday, January 31st anytime between 10 am and 2 pm at the church, though alternative drop-off arrangements can be made if needed. You can also check out our Amazon wishlist if you’d like to buy and send supplies right to the church. More information about the drive can be found here. Thank you all for your support!

Liturgy and Lunch every Wed. at noon
Come for community and discussion as we look to deepen our faith. We meet in the chapel/library area off the main hall near the bathroom. Bring your own lunch if you’d like to eat with us! Please note, we will not have this ongoing event on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Three community meals are now at the church
Because of our great relationship with It Takes a Village 207, we will now have even more community meals at the church each week. Every Tuesday and Thursday from 2 to 3 pm, York County Shelter Programs will hand out to-go meals in the parking lot. On Wednesday, there will be a meal by ITAV207 and its partner Sweetser inside the Parish Hall also from 2 to 3 pm. We encourage all our members (and others!) to consider how they may help with the meals or other initiatives the group is doing. Please follow ITAV’s Facebook page to see how you can get involved.

Please return your pledge sheets
We have set a $65,000 goal for our annual pledge fundraiser. Great news– we’ve reached about 60% of that! If you haven’t pledged yet, please do. Any amount that you may be able to afford is appreciated and helps us continue our ministries including Baby Blessings, St. Mary’s Guild, the little free food pantry and so much more. Pledge sheets are at the back of the sanctuary or the parish hall. You may send them to the church through the mail or drop them off in the office mail slot.

We update this page regularly, however, there are other ways to stay in the know! Our weekly email is a great way to receive reminders and notifications about any changes should they arise. You can sign up for that right on the homepage of our website. You can find also us on Facebook at St. George’s Episcopal Church- Sanford, Maine. For those of you who are on Instagram, follow us @stgeorgesanford.  There’s even our YouTube page, too!

Opening the Doors to our Community
We welcome AA, NA, Al-Anon, Maine Access Points, Lions Club, National Alliance on Mental Illness, and others into our church to hold regular events. Please note, these are run by outside groups and are identified in italics on the calendar. For more information, click here.
