Columbarium

A columbarium is a repository for the interment of cremated remains. It returns us to the age-old custom of interring loved ones in the churchyard near where they were Baptized, married and nurtured in their faith. As such it provides a visible link between our beloved dead and the church family, enabling family and friends to pay their respects and refresh their remembrances as a part of regular worship.

Our columbarium was constructed and placed in the (then) Lady Chapel in the early 1990s. In 2013, with our remodeling, it was decided we wanted the columbarium to be more a part of our church. So it was moved to the church near our Baptismal font. More niches were ordered, doubling it in size and leaving room for future additions as needed.
